On the afternoon of 27th May 2009, Plan China was pleased to welcome the British Ambassdor to China, Sir William Ehrman to take part in a live video-conference between school children in Shaanxi Province, China and London, UK.
This event was part of a British government supported (Department for International Development).

Other schools included in the program are in Kenya, Malawi, and Sierra Leone. For the China-UK linking event, children discussed their personal experience of climate change and also expectations for the 2009 Copenhagen Climate Conference.
As part of the linling event, children in China and England were able to put questions directly to Sir William and also to Wang Xin-rong, the Deputy Director of Shaanxi Environmental Protection Department.
Currently, 20 middle schools and primary schools in Shaanxi are linked to 20 schools in the UK. For this live event, 13 Chinese students from ChunLin Middle School and JingYao Middle School, PuCheng County, linked up with 12 children attending 3 schools in London.
